I was so surprised when I opened my blog and saw that it said "New Fall Classes", and then I realized it was almost exactly a year since I had written on my blog. Time sure gets away from you when you're busy with life! Our life is mostly back to "normal" as we have carefully navigated these summer days.
In the last year I've continued to enjoy where I live in the Buffalo/Niagara region, biking and hiking, swimming in my kiddie pool, visiting family, enjoying my flowers and back porch, and finally doing some traveling again! Here's a few photos to catch up...
Last September I flew for the first time in 18 months (it felt very strange) to Italy to teach classes in Florence and spend some time there and in Rome and then go on to Paris for a week. I appreciated every moment even more than I ever had after being at home for so long.
I'm leaving in just about a month to travel there this year to teach just outside Florence again! I can't wait to see all my friends there and to meet several new people who have signed up. The first class is sold out but there are a few seats in the second class. You can read all about it on the class website HERE: Debby Schuh Classes: Firenze 2022.
I continued to teach classes last year on Zoom - it was so nice to connect with people from around the country, many I hadn't seen in years after their local stores closed and I no longer traveled to that area to teach. In December I finally got the opportunity to teach in person again in person for the first time in two years at Scrap Shack near Houston. I'll be back there again this December 2 and 3 and can't wait to see everyone again with three new classes. More information on signing up soon! (I'll be teaching the Explore Memory File, Christmas Wonder Album, and the Round Trip Flipbook Album there.)
Thanksgiving and Christmas 2021 were spent with family - it was wonderful! - and the holiday season was extra fun when I went to London and Paris with a small group of ladies to see the lights and decorations that make those cities extra magical. I'll have information soon about this year's trip with four nights in Paris and four nights in London from December 7-15. Email me if you'd like more information ahead of time.
It was the usual cold and blustery winter here in Buffalo, but my husband and I made the best of it and continued with our adventures.
In March we explored a new-to-us country - Portugal! We loved it and would return in a heartbeat. It's a beautiful and very diverse country. We explored from Lisbon to Sintra to Porto to the coast to Lagos and back to Lisbon.
In late May and early June I returned to Paris for a week and then on to London to see the Queen for her Platinum Jubilee. It was amazing - I didn't get to see her in person this time like I did ten years ago for her Silver Jubilee since she only made a couple appearances at events, but I did get to see Prince Charles and Camilla and William and Catherine and the kids and many other dignitaries. One of the greatest thrills was hearing Andrea Bocelli and Diana Ross sing in person at the Platinum Jubilee party at the Palace. I almost cried. LOL
One of the most exciting events of the summer was getting air-conditioning installed in our house for the first time in my life. LOL It has been heavenly with the hot summer we've had, and I've thanked God every day! We've done lots of bike rides and hikes, and I love "swimming" in my kiddie pool, and my flowers and back porch.
Although I don't want summer to end, I'm excited to be back designing new classes for the months ahead. I've missed it! I'm working on classes for Italy October 1, for an in-person class weekend at Frank Garcia Studio near Los Angeles for the first time on November 11 and 12, for Zoom classes the weekend of November 19 and 20 (more info soon), and for in-person classes at Scrap Shack December 2 and 3.
Here's a peek at what I'm working on...
Explore Memory File Class (in Florence, Italy, at Scrap Shack, and on Zoom with any leftover kits). The Grateful Heart Memory File class at Frank Garcia Studio will be just like this only with the new, not even out yet Maggie Holmes Parasol collection.
Christmas Wonder Album Class (at Frank Garcia Studio, Scrap Shack, and Zoom) More photos of the inside soon! (I'm waiting to receive the washi tape for the Mittens and Mistletoe collection to completely finish the book.)
Photo Story Album (Florence, Italy and Zoom with leftover kits) More photos when the products arrive in September, but this is what is in the kits
Round Trip Flip Book Album (Frank Garcia Studio and Scrap Shack)
Some of the pages in the 33 page flip book...
Grateful Heart Memory File (Frank Garcia Studio and Zoom) More photos will be available when the products arrive
I post on Instagram and Facebook regularly, so you can find me there, and I'll try to post here more often. I miss keeping it up to date!
Thanks for following along and I hope to see you in person, in class this fall!
Love, Debby
