I have a ton of photos from Creativation (formerly CHA), the craft and hobby trade show that was held in Phoenix earlier this week, so I'll do a few posts and share the things that caught my eye there.
I had to laugh about all the "freezing" comments I heard from people there who were sooo cold at 54 degrees - wimpy! It felt like a nice spring day to me! :)
I've been going to CHA every year since about 2001 and have seen major changes in the industry and the show, but a lot of us are still hanging in there and bringing new products and classes to the paper-crafting world!
I took these next two photos on the last day, which is always the quietest day, so it looks kind of deserted, but for me it is the busiest day. The first day I look at all the new products, the second day I go back and see things that stood out in my mind and stand around and catch up with friends a lot, and then the third day, I place all my orders for the next few months of classes. It's a little scary as I try to guess how much I need in order to not have too much or too little for my classes.
The two stand-outs to me at the show were lots of great paper collections and the hottest thing - traveler's notebooks. Here are some of the things that I liked...
New Graphic 45...
New planners and traveler's notebooks at Webster's Pages...
New paper collections from Carta Bella...
New Maggie Holmes and Crate Paper...
New American Crafts devotional products...
New Pebbles...
New Doodlebug Designs... (with their own traveler's notebooks!)
New Simple Stories (and more traveler's notebooks!)...
New Illustrated Faith and Bella Blvd...
(How much do I need that Dad "shoe - schuh" paper!)
New PinkFresh...
Next post, I'll share the inspiration of the Tim Holtz booths and my friends from South Africa with Penelope Dee, and then photos of actual samples I brought home. Hmmm... which products do you think I chose for my new classes???
Loved your post Debby.
What is the name of the collection that seems to feature London?
Am going in June and would love to find this collection.
Thanks,
Catherine
PS...am finally finishing up my Summer Stories Album, lol

Catherine, it is the Practically Perfect collection from Carta Bella. One of my new classes IS going to feature this collection, if you want to wait for that class kit! :)

Om my goodness! How do you pick what to use?! So many good papers and collections. I just want to go buy it all even though I don't know what I would do with it. I watched some of Tim's videos so I can't wait to see your pictures of his products. I was not surprised to see all the travelers notebooks because I am already seeing them here. I saw a sample one on Scrapbook.com and fell in love with it. NOw if I only had a use for one.

Thank you Debby for sharing your thoughts and process at the Creativation show, it is very interesting. I am a huge Carta Bella and Echo Park fan! Doodle Bug looks awesome too, but not very easy to find some of these in South Africa. Love to see what you choose and how you use them in your classes. Your classes are the best. Hugz from SA.
