San Diego: La Jolla Cove and Classes

I had a free day between arriving in San Diego and my classes on Sunday, so I decided to explore a little and go to La Jolla Cove, not far from the Marriott where my classes would be held. As many times as I have been to San Diego, I've mainly come to teach and haven't seen too much of the beautiful coastline.

I parked near the La Jolla Cave and walked along the ocean...

Can someone tell me what all these black birds are?

I loved seeing the sea lions on the rocks and playing in the water...

And literally right at my feet on the rocks just below...

I found a good place to eat supper with a great view...

By the time I was done eating and walked back to the ocean, the sun was setting...

I love the tall palm trees...

It was worth the wait...

Until it was time to leave!! Good thing I had no where I had to be since everyone, of course, is leaving at the same time, as soon as the sun sets. There is only one way out with one lane of cars that took about an hour of inching along to get out of town... It was worth it though - I'm glad I got to see this part of the California coast!

On Sunday I had my day of workshops at the Marriott La Jolla. It was so, so nice to see so many friends from the San Diego area and the LA area and Palm Springs and Phoenix - I treasure every one of you and the support and friendship that we've shared over the years. You all are a blessing to me! I wished I'd remembered to take a photo with every person - and wish that we didn't wait until the end of the day when I look like I've been teaching all day! :) (There were several that couldn't come at the last minute because they were sick - I hope you are well soon!)

Great photos
Are those cormorants? It's hard to tell without a close up, but the shape looks right. Maybe one of the local gals
from the SB store would know.

I love the San Diego area. The coast has so many neat places to visit and see interesting things. I think those are cormorants too. Hard to tell for sure though. Glad the classes went well.
