I hope you all had a good and safe Independence Day! I slept late after traveling for 18 hours to get home from Alaska, and then we went to my parents for a picnic and then went to the waterfront for fireworks. We had a front row seat as they exploded directly over our heads! It was actually a little scary at times - especially at the finale when I thought the burning pieces of fireworks were going to land on us! There were ashes all over us and huge pieces of them laying around, so I think my fear was justified, but it was awesome! :) I shared my mom's video of the finale on Facebook if you want to see it HERE.
After ten days with my group of ladies traveling around Italy, shopping and sight-seeing, teaching in Brescia at Hobby di Carta, and then a couple days back in Florence, it was time to head into Tuscany for my third year at the La Dolce Vita retreat, my time to recharge and soak in the peace and quiet of the Bichi Borghesi estate.
I'll let the photos tell the story:
Day one...
Tasting olive oils from olives on the local farm...
Day two to Siena...
Day three...
Just a quick glimpse of one of my favorite places on earth! Part 2 soon! :)
Such a beautiful place.
