In this last post about Creativation, I thought I'd share some photos of actual papers and embellishments that debuted at the show. It's so helpful for me to see the actual product rather than just looking at a catalog, although I usually have to make the decisions about what to order before I see everything in person. It's very nerve-wracking! Trying to imagine what I'll make, what people will want to make, and how much to order is a very tricky thing. I have to spend many thousands of dollars to be ready for the classes in the months ahead. It's a little crazy, but I pray A LOT and trust that God is guiding me in the decisions I make. (At the end of the post, I'll share what I've chosen for the classes that I'll be teaching in the next several months.)
Of course, just as soon as I laid out products to photograph, Buddy, the cat I hadn't seen for hours, just somehow knew what was happening and nonchalantly had to lay down right on top! LOL
This is the new collection from Shimelle... it's too cutesy for my life right now, but great for lots of people!
BUT - I flipped the papers over and loved the B sides. Bright and fun! And I love the cat paper!
Next is some of the papers from a new Simple Stories spring collection. Llamas??
I really liked this new Crafty Girl collection, especially the top paper. One of my favorites from the show!
I also really liked the papers in the new version of the I Am collection. I'm sure I'll use them in one of my own scrapbooks sometime.
I loved this new composition book portfolio from Webster's Pages. I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to use it for, but I think it's super cute and useful!
I thought the new paper collections from Penelope Dee were beautiful and unique. I won't be using them in my classes, I'm sorry to say, because they are only available wholesale from Notions distributors, and I don't order from them, so I can't get them. BUT you can get them at your local store - request they be ordered, or get them from scrapbook.com when available there.
One of my favorite lines at the show was the Little Women collection from Graphic 45. I really thought I was going to use it for a class until I got the samples and realized that there are only a couple papers that don't say Little Women on them or the names of the sisters, etc. That makes it a little too specific for me. I love the colors and designs though and know that there are amazing things you can do with it!
Now to the products I ordered and will be using! I'll be teaching a new version of the Little Golden Seashore book using this collection that is so perfect for this book. This was one of the most popular classes I've ever done, so I'm excited to bring it back in a very limited amount with new ideas and papers. I'll be teaching this class in the US and in Italy.
I always have one class that is my "featured" class (at least in my mind) that I have a specific purpose for to use myself and this next photos shows some of the products in this class kit. This class will be called "Story Girl" and I can't wait to start working on it. I'm waiting for the album we'll be using to arrive and some other things, but this gives a peek into some of it. I'll be teaching this class in the US, in France, and in Italy.
I'm super excited about this next class. Like I said before, the hottest thing at the show was traveler's notebooks, so I'm very happy to be doing a class that will be a travel traveler's notebook! The class kit will include an actual full size traveler's notebook from Webster's Pages and tons of products from the Crate paper Here and There collection. I haven't titled the class yet, but I think I might just call it the Here and There Traveler's Notebook. LOL - so creative! I'll be teaching this class in the US, France, and Italy.
The last new class for now is going to combine the Carta Bella Practically Perfect collection with new Tim Holtz goodies. The papers and embellishments don't come out until February so for now I just have the catalog image, but Tim provided me with samples straight off the wall at the very end of the show, so I could make the class sample. I can't wait to work on the book that we'll make from these things! I'll be teaching this class in the US, France, and Italy, too! More information will be coming on dates and places very soon. You can watch my schedule on the side as I update it with dates and places.
Thank you for following along and for all your encouragement and support! I'm so lucky to get to share what I love with you all and hope to see you somewhere this year! xoxo
