In the middle of this crazy, busy month, it's important for me to take time to remember what I'm celebrating... the birth... the gift of Jesus.
I have a little collection of tiny nativity scenes... this one that I got in Paris in October... it's only about an inch and a half tall.
And this one that I got in Naples in Italy a couple years ago... very traditional and handmade about 2" tall altogether...
At church this morning our pastor talked about the familiar verse in Isaiah 9:6:
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
He specifically talked about how Jesus is our Everlasting Father if we believe in Him as our Savior. Deep inside every person is a longing for a father's love. That love is found in God our Father and in Jesus. If you need encouragement that God loves you during this holiday season, I'd urge you to watch the video of this message. You can find it HERE. (He gave this message at the main campus of our church last weekend and then again today at the church that is at the Galleria Mall, where I heard it today.)
I pray that you'll feel all the love of the Everlasting Father as we celebrate this Christmas and the celebrations of the season.
Much love from me, too! xoxo
