I heard from so many people that they enjoyed the photos from the Dior Exhibit yesterday, so I decided to add an extra post today with some more photos of the show. Enjoy!
Princess Margaret wore a Dior dress for this photograph. They had the actual dress there, too, but my photo of it didn't turn out at all. (The photo was on a screen and it faded just enough that you could see the actual dress in place behind it, like the photo yesterday of the model with the Eiffel Tower.) What a gorgeous dress!
Here's more photos of the miniature dresses mixed with the full size dresses. I would have LOVED to play with these dresses with my Barbie doll! :)
There was a huge wall of magazine covers (this shows just part of the humongous wall) featuring Dior designs.
In the section with art and period-inspired designs...
Maybe you'd like this fur coat?
Back in the room with all things flowers...
The next photo shows this incredible dress more closely - it is thousands of tiny beaded flowers!
A towering wall of black, gray, and white designs...
I didn't care for most of the looks in the more modern section with the designers that have led the house since Dior's death, but this bright-colored dress caught my eye.
This was my favorite dress in the white room. So simple, but the pleating was amazing!
A girl was working on beading some fabric. I can't imagine the hours and hours it takes to create these works of art.
This next room didn't have the WOW impact of the amazing gowns, but clothes were beautiful, too. I would wear the first dress with the collar and bow!
And then the Grand Finale!
The high ceiling was filled with projected lights and stars and twinkles and frescoes that changed and shifted - it was really cool!
I hope you've enjoyed this little peek at the exhibit. There were hundreds more dresses on exhibit... what a show!
