My time here in Florida is drawing to an end... it's been a great week with my parents and classes over the weekend at Whim So Doodle in St. Pete. Here's a look back on the last few days:
There's a large sand sculpture at the beach honoring our veterans for their service...
My favorite veteran...
We made only one visit to the Bargain Barn. Sadly (very sadly) it is not the treasure trove that it used to be. They don't have any books anymore, which was one of my favorite things to look for there - I found awesome vintage books there over the years. It's mostly garbage - even more than it used to be.
I did find a couple things - one is this stuffed bee. (The other was a stack of small yellow legal notepads for 25 cents.) I picked the stuffed animal up since it's a bee, but then saw that the label on it says "LapGear" and thought that maybe it would be good to rest my computer on when it's on my lap. It was 25 cents, too. When I got home, I looked it up on Amazon and found that it is made for children to use with an iPad and retails for $19.99. I love my bee!
Here he is in use... Do you think anyone would think I was weird if I use it on the airplane?
We've spent a few days at the beach... I'm still hoping for one more day today but it's cloudy, so we'll see.
My favorite kind of sculptures...
The water is so clear that you can see the tiny silver fishes gleaming as they dart around.
In the evenings we worked on this fun puzzle - I like a challenge and this was a good one! I have a puzzle rule that I don't look at the box but this one required a little cheating!
On Friday I traveled up to St. Pete for classes at Whim So Doodle - we had a great time! Students came from New York City and Los Angeles and Miami and Orlando and from nearby - I'm so grateful for all who come to my classes. I am truly blessed by your friendship and support and kindness. There were a lot of brand new people, too, and now they have gone through the "initiation" for Debby Schuh classes and passed with flying colors! :) A huge thank you to Jill and all the staff for all your help and hospitality!
The first weekend in December I'll be teaching the same three classes near Houston, Texas, at the Scrap Shack - you can read about the classes and sign up HERE and on Sunday, January 14, I'll be teaching the same classes in San Diego. You read about that event and sign up on the class website HERE. I hope you can join me for the fun and creativity there!
