I'm blogging from high in the sky somewhere about half way across the US on my way from the east coast to the west. I think that's pretty amazing! My flight was supposed to be at 5:15am with a quick connection in Philadelphia but they were socked in with fog so the flight in Buffalo was delayed which meant a missed connection in Philly, but they got me on a different flight and I'm on my way - just a few hours later! I take these kind of travel snafus in stride - I trust that I'll get there how and when I need to be there, so I try to go with the flow.
Anyway... since I'm up here and don't have any new pictures yet (except of the decorations I got up at home before I let - I posted a few pictures on Facebook), it's a good time to post some more pictures from the New York trip. Sunday was our last day together as a group and as usual we started out the day at one of my favorite restaurants, Balthazar, down in SoHo.
We look like we color-coordinated ourselves, don't we! From there we headed out for shopping and what we fondly call the cupcake tour - first stop in Cupcakes by Melissa with the tiny bite-sized cupcakes. They are just so cute!
It was a nippy 27 degrees when we started out - cold for even this Northern girl - so we did a little walking and a LOT of taxi rides!
That evening most of us (some had to head home) had a cozy dinner at Joe Allen (our celebrity sighting this time was Dumbledore from the Harry Potter movies - Michael Gambon was sitting behind me) and then some cheesecake at Juniors. (These are my Paris and London travel "sisters" - we'll be in Paris next spring again!)
On Monday I had some time to myself to go a few other places like the Time Warner Center and into Central Park a little.
At night I went to Bryant Park to the holiday market but it was FREEZING as you can see by the picture of the fountain!
The Empire State Building looked nice and Christmasy. Tuesday was my last day - by afternoon I'd be on my way home.
At Rockefeller Center they were taking down the scaffolding that they use to put the lights on the Christmas tree.
It was a wonderful trip - I'm so thankful for each person who joined me there. You are a blessing to me!
Thank you for reading my blog and sharing this adventure too! You can email me at email@example.com if you would like to be put on the interest list to get information about next year's New York City Christmas trip.
