My December blogging wouldn't be complete without finishing up the posts about my New York City adventure! Picking things up on Saturday - this is the day that we "do" Fifth Avenue - the sparkling lights and the amazing windows - New York looks its best at Christmas!
As we walked from our hotel to our first meeting point, we couldn't resist taking a photo in front of the huge Christmas ornaments on display. Then we met up with the rest of our group (some people stay at other hotels - it's all good) and took our annual "official" group photo... (Remember, you can click on any photo to make it larger, if you want to.)
Some of the ladies have been joining me on this trip all four years and some were new - on their very first trip to NYC. I love to see the enduring friendships that have been made and that it brings people together like Suzy, Zoe, and Sunny.. Suzy and Sunny are sisters and Zoe is Suzy's daughter... they rarely get to see each other except with me each year! How fun is that?!
We made our way up 5th Avenue, wandering in and out of stores, oohing and aahing over the decorations - especially the Bergdorf Goodman windows, which as you can see, were spectacular, and posing for pictures along the way. Even the inside of the stores is breath-taking!
Of course we had to have our pictures with the toy soldier doorman at FAO Schwartz! Then we headed over to Central Park to get a snack and a little walk in the park before moving on for more shopping.
I love this light pole covered in pigeons - I wonder why they all land there? I'm not standing under THAT light!
At Barney's you could get in a sleigh in the store window and have your picture taken, so of course we hopped in!
I was pretty proud of myself that, because of the photo tour we had gone on the day before, I was using my DSLR camera on manual mode for most of these pictures. I need to do that more!
I'll be back tomorrow with the continuation of our day! Have a good one and thank you for reading my blog! :)
(Email me if you would like to be put on the interest list of My NYC 2014 - November 21-23 - and I'll email you before the trip is announced to the public.)
