I'm very happy to report that everyone made it safely to Buffalo last Saturday!
The brothers are back together again!!
It is a Christmas "miracle" that I handed my camera to a stranger and got a good family picture!
The airport was so festive with Santa greeting someone and Christmas carolers...
I just loved seeing all the joyful reunions - especially of soldiers coming home to see their loved ones! It brought back memories of tearful reunions that we've had!
We went out to Lake Effect Diner for a late dinner - love seeing these two together - of course, the mom in me tries to picture these same two as little boys sitting at a booth together - those little boys became men!
Love Becca too!
Sunday morning we woke up to a freezing and dark house - an ice storm had arrivied overnight and taken the electricity out with it. I bundled up and huddled under the blankets (and sent my husband to Starbucks for some coffee) and read a book by candlelight. I learned a good lesson though - I had not charged anything that night so my iPad was dead and my cellphone had hardly any battery left - must keep things charged!! :)
We finally got up and got ready for church - again by candlelight. Even though it is daylight outside, it is so overcast and gloomy that it is kind of dark inside. We had about a foot of snow but that has all melted and it has rained for 3 days straight so there is flooding everywhere - we're fine but lots of people and roads aren't. Yeah! that Starbucks is up and running for a stop on the way to church. Brandon went ahead of time to get warm and get online.
For me it was a "come as you are" hair day with no electricity!
Ummm... warm hands...
One of my greatest joys is sitting in church with my family together. (And getting warm together! :) We had a great dinner out and then spent some time at the mall, so that by the time we came home, the electricity was back on (along with random lights all over the house.)
Time to make cookies and get the presents wrapped!
Have a really good day - thank you for reading here - enjoy every minute of the holiday!
