A little work and a little fun - the perfect mix for my weekend! I flew to Washington DC last Friday and drove to Fredericksburg, Virginia, for a weekend of classes at Scrapdoodles. According to my GPS it's only 38 miles from Ft. Belvoir where Brandon lives to the store, but it took almost two hours to get there - I have to say that I was a doubter when I've heard people talk about the traffic here! It can be crazy! Some of you saw my Instagram and Facebook posts from the road. You know the traffic is bad when you can take pictures and post all as you are sitting in traffic!
I eventually arrived and made a stop at a grocery store near my hotel - but not just any grocery store - the biggest Wegmans that I have EVER seen!
I used the app Photosynth on my phone to try to get the whole thing in. Love Wegmans - they are our local grocery store in the Buffalo/Rochester, NY, area and are expanding to Virginia and other places.
Friday evening I had my first class at Scrapdoodles with a full classroom of ladies. A huge thank you to all that came out to create with me! One lady was there from Ohio but the prize for traveling the furthest went to one gal who was there from Germany! Hopefully I'll get there one day to teach at HER local store.
Scrapdoodles is a store that has been on my list of places that I'd like to teach for a while, so I was happy that it finally worked out to visit there. It's a great store! So spacious, and I think they have just about anything that you might need to scrapbook and create with! The girl working that night kept bringing out cart after cart of new product - I love that they carry all the newest things -
- tons and tons of paper and embellishments and paints and inks and just about everything!
I loved seeing good friends that I haven't seen in a while - like this one - Kitty is one of my favorite! :)
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time during this busy summer weekend to come out to my classes and especially to Cheryl for bringing me in for the weekend - I felt so welcome and made lots of new friends! I can't wait to return someday!
