We had a slightly warmish day yesterday so we thought it might be our chance to get to the beach. It was ok for a little while but it started to get chilly and then we bundled up and then gave up and headed home.
I love my new chair that I got at the Bargain Barn for $3! The footstool and all folds up and has straps to carry it like a backpack. It's very comfy!
I even used my dress as a scarf to keep warm! Hopefully it will warm up soon.
I took pictures of the treasures I found at the Goodwill Bargain Barn on Monday... it's really hit or miss there - you never know what you will find. I think I hit the jackpot pretty well this time! Here's a look at the things I found...
This tiny transistor radio says Made in Japan on it - isn't it cute? It's about 3"x4". I found the radio in one bin and my friend Joey found the case somewhere else. I just love it! It was 50 cents.
I love these little birdies - they have a hole to put them on a string of lights. I like birds with sweet faces. I think these were a quarter.
These folders had been used to make covers for records but I got rid of the records and love the vintage folders to use for a project. There are 14 of them so I'm thinking a limited edition kit or something!
The City Walks: Paris card set is like new. It has 50 cards inside, each with a map and a walk to take in Paris. How cool is that! I love any picture book of Paris like the one on the right. The frame is an old plastic frame - I'm thinking it would be perfect on the front of an album.
I thought the books looked interesting - a novel set in Paris and the other set in Buffalo! The red garland is faded with age and the box of word cards will be fun to use in a paper project! A quarter for each of these things.
Of course I love anything chenille so this snowman will be perfect for my mantle at Christmas. How sweet is the plastic ornament with the star-shaped hanger at the top!
Add on my chair and I spent $13 altogether. The folders added up since they cost 25 cents each but all the other things were a quarter or 50 cents. We stopped at a new Goodwill in Sarasota that is beautiful but everything seemed so "expensive" after finding these goodies!
Hopefully we'll make it back to the Bargain Barn before I leave - you never know what might be waiting for me there!
All those Paris things are great. And I really like the idea of the record covers as albums. The birds, snowman and ornament are so cute. You made some really great finds. I need to see if there is a Goodwill Bargain Barn place here.
