Two posts in one day! That must be a record! I hope everyone is having a good Valentine's Day! I've had a good day - just missing everyone at home on this special day though!
This morning I took the Eurostar train through the Chunnel to London where I'll be until Sunday, doing some final planning for my ladies' shopping trip here in April. At the train station in Paris, Eurostar had a spot where they were taking your photograph for free and giving out some yummy chocolate... of course, I couldn't say no to that!
I love taking the Eurostar train. It is so relaxing and in 2 1/2 hours, you're in another country across (or under) the water! I dropped my bags off at my hotel and set out for Covent Garden where I always go to Cath Kidston first.
I got a few goodies - new tea towels, a bag, and some other trinkets - I'll take pictures and share later.
This was my view of Covent Garden from the restaurant where I had lunch (Le Pain Quotiden, of course.)
Covent Garden was wild today - lots of crazy people - kind of circus atmosphere. Quite a culture shock after coming from sophisticated Paris! The eggs are out in Covent Garden again this year. Here's just one...
From there I made my way to Liberty. I thought it appropriate that a Royal Mail truck was out front. I love the flowers that surround the doors as you enter the store. Today I pretended that these roses were for me! :)
By the time I left, the sun had set so I hopped in a cab to the Cath Kidston store on Marleybone High Street. A little browsing there and a long walk to the Bond Street tube station and then it was back home again.
It was a good day - I was dressed way too warm - it's much warmer here than in Paris! I opened my valentines from two special men in my life - Mr. Kitty and my husband. It was a sweet way to end the day!
Hope you had a sweet day too!
I think the Eurostar Chunnel crossing sounds like fun. Cath Kidson, Liberty and Convent Garden all sound like places I'd like to visit. Have fun and stay safe.
