Just a quick update before we leave Johannesburg... we arrived safely after our reaaaallllly long flights to Johannesburg. I can't believe I'm here again... even better the second time!
Glenda, who is the most amazing hostess and organizer of this event, was at the airport for a warm SA greeting as we arrived from the US, New Zealand, and Australia!
We did some shopping at the Sandton City mall the first day and then it was time for the delegates (as they call the students here) to arrive and start two very full days of classes. I love seeing familiar faces again! World Cup fever is here and so I did my part cheering for the South Africa team and wearing my team shirt! I think I brought them just enough luck to pull out a 17-16 win yesterday!
You'll never meet nicer people... that feel like family! These are the girls in Glenda's family... I think I could be one of the sisters?!
We've had lots of great food (especially the malva pudding!!!)
Now we're flying to Port Elizabeth and on to Kichaka Lodge for the most wonderful 4 days of relaxing and safari. Hopefully I'll be able to post more soon!

Hambagahle (go in peace) Debby & Dave. We loved having you again, stunning class- thank you! Enjoy Kichaka and the company of all the lovely co- teachers and Glenda's crowd, of course. We have alerted the animals-- the bush telegraph is broadcasting your imminent arrival and they will all be coming to take a good look at the famous minibook maker...

I am writing from South Africa where I attended the scrapbook Convention in Johannesburg this last weekend.
I met you, Debby, for the first time, what a pleasure and inspiration it's been to meet you - you are so lovely. I want to thank you and Pink Paisley for your incredible generosity in terms of all the items we received and the stunning "A Happy Heart" project you inspired us to create, I wouldn't even have known how to combine those beautiful papers, and I will finish my book this week with all the details , photos and journalling. I love the idea of having a "feel good" book I can page through when I'm feeling down. Thank you for coming to us and sharing your creativity and commitment to a craft that brings so much joy to me.
Maintain your creative spirit - you have no idea of the extent of inspiration!
Hope to see you again soon - maybe I might join you on one of your trips some day.
Also thank you so much for supporting our Booke yesterday - I think your support helped us have that one point advantage by the end of the game - thank you!
Love and gratitude

Praying that you have a safe and wonderful rest and safari. I know the girls there in SA were blessed to have you teach them. Looks like so much fun. Can't wait for December.
