I try to count my blessings everyday but today is a perfect time to take some extra moments to reflect and be grateful. I am so thankful for my faith, my family, my work, my friends here at home and across the country, our country and freedom, a warm home, and a million little things like my computer, wireless internet, cellphones, TIVO, flannel sheets, cameras, sunshine, cheaper gas, and on and on!
It's been a crazy week since I posted last...but everything's good...
...I have a son living in Florida doing a co-op for college who bought a car...a lot of time on the phone working out those details...thank God for grandma and grandpa who I can't thank enough for taking care of him! And thank God for a great opportunity at this company!
+++edited to add a couple pictures of the very happy son taken of the computer screen while getting a tour of the new car with Skype this morning. Do you think I could get him to wear a motorcycle helmet in this car?
...I have a cat who must have gotten injured outside so we had an expensive trip to the vet yesterday. I'm not a fan of spending a lot of money on a cat but also can't say, "Sorry, you hurt your paw, so goodbye!" He's not too happy but on the mend. Do you think he'll realize how much HE has to be grateful for?
...I have another son who is working most of the day at Starbucks today, so my husband and I will be joining my sister and her family for dinner. We'll meet up with the son to see the new James Bond movie tonight. I'm really missing having my boys around for the holiday though!
...I am immersed in planning my classes for the new year! Lots of catalogs, product, lists, and all in piles around me! I need three new classes for January, another class for something big next year :), keeping in mind a great project for my Mediterranean cruise...there are so many choices to be made. I'm so thankful that the ideas keep coming! When I first sit down to plan a new set of classes, I get a little nervous..."What if I never have another creative idea again...what if I've used it all up?" Many people ask how I get my ideas, and it is truly a lot of prayer and brainstorming and thinking what I would like in a class...what project would I want to sign up for? (If anyone has any requests let me know!) Even in this area, as well as several others recently, I have to tell myself to choose faith over fear. God has never failed me yet! I'm really excited about how things are coming together! I really do love every step of the process.
...I packed up the last of the kits for this year's classes and shipped them off to my last teaching dates next week in California. Can't wait...for a fabulous day at Kim Caldwell's for a Joyeux Affaire and then one last class for the year at The Scrappin' Table the next day. I'll post here when I return if I have any Christmas album kits left. The Be My Guest ATC holder class and the Wonderful Things class will be taught one more time on Friday night in Texas in March (Saturday will be all new classes, for those who are planning to come! :)
...We are getting a new stove tomorrow. You can't imagine how excited I am about that! Maybe I'll post a picture eventually but you would not believe the cooktop stove I've had for the 14 years we've lived here. If you saw it, you would know why I don't cook! Only two burners work out of four and it's awful. Will I start cooking now? Ha! Getting the stove means demolishing that part of the kitchen which is leading to one thing after another...I see a mess coming up, but the result will be worth it. We are do-it-yourselfers, so we always run into interesting challenges.
May you all have a good day...filled with love and thankfulness and good things! God bless you!
