Work, then PLAY!
Before I get to play, I have to work and this week has been crammed with it. I leave very early!!! on Sunday morning for New York City where I'll be going to the National Stationary Show and doing some shopping and a little work, too.
I worked at the Stationary Show one year but haven't had the chance to walk and "shop" it, so I'm so excited about that. I love paper and office stuff and all, so I can't wait to see all they have to offer. I'm hoping to find some cool things for my fall classes. I'm looking forward to seeing my buddy, Suzi Finer, at MY end of the country. We have tickets to see Mandy Patinkin on Broadway Monday night, and I'll be seeing Young Frankenstein on Broadway Wednesday night with my husband who unexpectedly is going there on business, too.
Besides the Stationary Show, I'm going to be hitting all my favorite places in NYC to gather business cards. I'm thinking of self-publishing (unless someone else wants to publish it) a little guide/journal/scrapbook called "My NYC" with lots of guidance for seeing the NY I love. I get so many emails from people asking for advise, so I think this might be something that people would like.
So here's what I've gotten done this week...
- Totally filled my fall teaching schedule with new classes from one end the country to the other! I'm looking forward to returning to some stores and going to new ones! I'm especially excited about the classes on December 6! :)
- Worked like crazy on samples for Anna Griffin to use on QVC in the UK. Here's some little peeks at what I did...some totally different looks! And a picture of the cat because I can't have an empty space there!
- Finished my projects as guest designer for June for Cocoa Daisy. The June kit is packed with fabulous products. I love playing with different things...it really revs up my creativity. I'll post peeks of what I did next week.
- Worked on my class kits for the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Buffalo at the end of May. I only have to assemble 200 kits! I will have some extra kits at the Convention, so you can sign up that day if you want.
I keep reminding myself to breathe...it's all good!

The sneak peeks look fabulous Debby! I think your idea of self-publishing a NY book is wonderful, I'd certainly buy it!! I'm still trying to get Mandi back there when the weather is nice so she can see more of NYC (we were there Feb. 06 when a blizzard hit!!)...
enjoy the Stationary Show!!

Thanks for the sneak peeks of the Anna Griffin layouts - PLEASE post more! Do you ever teach any classes with her papers? If so, can we buy the kits?
Have fun at the show and can't wait to see some photos!

Debby: I love the sneak peaks and can't wait to see more. Have a great time in NYC - I truly hope that you publish your guide. Your cat looks very comfortable. When you were here, I told you that when we got our 2 dogs cut they would look just like cats. Alright, maybe not so much! But they are currently enjoying the cool weather and our big one is also in the upside-down pose (on the living room couch!). She knows I'm more likely to take a picture than yell at her!
Have a wonderful trip and can't wait to hear all about it. Kitty
